It is smoky,it’s nutty,This homemade Suya spice is perfect for making meat skewers.(Suya / beef kebab). This recipe is made from scratch,it’s quite simple and easy to follow.
ingredients
1 cup raw peanuts or unsalted roasted peanuts
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon paprika
1 teaspoon chili pepper
1 teaspoon salt
2 stock cubes or 1 teaspoon bouillon powder
1/2 teaspoon calabash nutmeg
roast the peanuts on the stove top until crunchy and golden brown. Allow to cool, then peel off the skin.
Pound the peanut with a mortal .you can also use a dry mill blender or food processor to grind the peanuts.the peanuts should be crumbly and not puréed.( if it’s too smooth, it becomes too oily).
Once the peanuts has been grounded,add all the other ingredients and mix properly. put in an air tight container or a ziplock bag and store in the fridge.
TIPS
if the peanuts is oily after grinding, pour it in a paper towel .( the paper towel will soak up the oil.
