It is colorful,flavorful,delicious and packed with yummy goodness. This traditional homemade yellow rice is a must try. Quick and easy to make.
ingredients
3 cups rice
3 tablespoons oil
1/2 cup onion (chopped)
1 teaspoon garlic
1/2 teaspoon ginger
1/2 teaspoon paprika
2 bay leaves
1/2 teaspoon curry powder
1 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 cup green onion (sliced)
4 cups chicken broth
pepper
salt and seasoning to taste.
Put the oil in a skillet over medium heat, add the onion, ginger, garlic and bay leaves, cook for 2-3 minutes until onion is tender. add turmeric and curry and fry for another 1-2 minutes. Add the rice, stirring frequently for 3 minutes, add paprika, pepper, salt and seasoning to taste. Add the chicken broth and bring to a boil for a minute or two, cover the pot and cook on a low heat for15-20 minutes. Turn the heat off, garnish with the green onion and serve.
